When using Microsoft Teams Integration, messages can be auto-generated for changes to accounts and customer contacts. This page describes how to set up integration for Microsoft Teams.
Turning on Teams Integration in Kapta:
While in Kapta, choose Settings / Configuration
Click the Edit link for Integrations.
Use the slider to enable Teams integration.
On the Teams Settings, add each of the required fields. Details on where to obtain this information is listed below.
Azure API Settings
These settings can be found within the Azure Portal for your administration.
The following 2 items are found on the Overview menu in the App Registration screen:
- Microsoft Tenant ID
-
Microsoft Client ID
The following item can be found (or set up) on the Certificates & Secrets menu in the App Registration screen.
- API Secret ID
Client secret values are only revealed during creation, so if the value is not saved separately, a new client secret may need to be created. For Kapta, make sure you select the Value and not the Secret ID.
In addition to the above settings, API Permissions must be set to at least allow the following:
- Channel.ReadBasic.All
- Team.ReadBasic.All
Teams Workflow Settings
Microsoft Teams requires the use of a workflow to receive messages from Kapta and post them to the appropriate channels. See the information below to set up your workflow and obtain a Workflow Url.
The easiest way to set up a Kapta workflow is to download and import a pre-configured file.
Download the pre-configured Kapta workflow (TBD: file not yet posted)
Navigate to Microsoft Power Automate for your team, open the My Flows menu on the left, and select Import Package from the Import menu.
Click the Upload button and select the pre-configured workflow file downloaded in the above step.
Before the package can be imported, you must review and save your import options.
For the first option, identify if you'd like to create a new workflow or update an existing one. If creating a new workflow, you can also customize the name. Click Save when complete.
For the second option, select the owner of workflow for your company and click Save.
When all options have been reviewed, their status will show in grey instead of red, and the Import button will be enabled. Click the Import button to complete the workflow import.
Once the workflow has imported, go the the My Flows menu on the left and click your new workflow to view it. You will then need to turn the new workflow On. Note that it may take several seconds for the workflow to become enabled.
Finally, to obtain a Url for this workflow, click the Edit button on the same screen.
On the workflow Edit screen, click the top item in the workflow, and then click the copy button next to the Workflow Url. This will copy the Url, which can then be pasted into Kapta as the Teams Workflow Url.
In Kapta, after saving the Azure API and Teams Workspace settings, you can choose the Team you'd like Kapta messages to be posted into.
After clicking Save and Continue, you can then identify the default channel where messages will be posted. You can also identify which messages and message types you'd like to have posted from Kapta into Teams.
Assigning a Kapta account to a specific Teams channel:
Open the account, and click the Edit Account link.
In the BASIC tab, start typing the name of the desired channel in the Microsoft Teams Field, and the list will populate based on matching. To get the full channel list, type any letter and then delete it.
Click Save. Now new account notes, contacts, contracts, opportunities, and tasks that are saved in Kapta will appear in the selected Microsoft Teams channel.
