What Are Tasks in Kapta?
Tasks in Kapta are small, ownable tasks that are time bound and related to an account. These should be quick to complete (e.g., customer check-in emails or preparing reports) and are core items on your to-do list.
Creating Tasks
There are many ways to create tasks quickly in Kapta.
- Create New Option: Click the big orange "Create New" button and choose "Task" from anywhere in Kapta
- Dashboard: Use the Quick Task link on your dashboard
- Account-Specific: Create directly from an account's tasks tab
- From Text: Highlight actionable text in notes, SWOT analysis, VOC responses, or risk/QBR meeting notes and click "Add as task"
- From Contacts: Set up regular check-in tasks in a contact's communications tab
- From Actions: Click the "Add Task" icon on an action in the account's Plan tab
- From Risks: Click "Add task" from the account's Risk tab for active risks
- From Opportunities: Add tasks on an opportunity's view page
- From QBRs: Add meeting-related tasks by viewing QBR details
Task Assignment and Visibility
Tasks can be assigned to:

- Individual users
- One or more accounts
- Linked to specific actions, risks, or opportunities
- When a task is linked to an account, all team members working on that account will see it
- By default, tasks are filtered to show current tasks for all team members

- Account's Tasks tab
- Individual user dashboards

Filtering Options
- Current tasks (default)
- Completed tasks
- System tasks
- Only your tasks
Sorting and Organization
- Sort by due date (past due tasks appear first)
- Tasks linked to actions, risks, or opportunities display clickable links to those items
Completing and Updating Tasks
It is important to keep your tasks up to date. You can do this by dragging and dropping them on the calendar in your dashboard or managing them in the account task tab.
- Hover over a task name to see icons for:
- Completing the task
- Completing with a note
- Editing the task
- Completing a task removes it from the current list
- For action tasks, you can update the linked action's progress and status when completing
- Notes added during completion appear in the notes tab
- Completed tasks can be viewed by changing to the "Completed" filter
- To restore a task, uncheck the completion box
Task Details and Editing
- Edit tasks to:
- Change details
- Make them recurring
- Link a contact
- Remove the task
- Assign due dates
- Change task owners
- Set up recurring tasks with specified frequency
Reporting
- Task details are included in account-level reports
- Find in the "action plan and activity report"
- Access by clicking "Reports" at the top of the page while an account is open
